Why is my uPVC door lock sticking?

My key won’t turn in the lock – what do I do?

If you have a uPVC or Composite Door and the key won’t turn in the lock, it’s likely that the locking mechanism is broken. When the uPVC locking mechanism breaks, the key will usually not turn and the handle will not pull down.

Another common cause of a key that won’t fully turn is when a euro cylinder lock has failed, this will cause the key to not go all the way into the lock preventing the key from turning.

In either case, the best course of action is to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

My uPVC door handle is loose and floppy – do I need a new handle?

If your uPVC Door handle is loose, it’s usually because of a problem with your uPVC gearbox and the internal parts of the multipoint lock. These are inside the door, in-between the door handles. You’ll need to get in touch for a free quote.

My uPVC door handle won’t lift to be able to lock – can a locksmith help?

The reason your upvc handle will not lift up or go down is usually not a problem with the handle itself, but a problem with the door or faulty locking mechanism. This is a very common fault and we’ll be able to help you very quickly.

What are Anti-Snap Locks?

Lock snapping is one of the most common methods burglars use to break into homes – and it can take under 30 seconds with standard locks.

An anti-snap lock is designed to prevent this. It has a built-in weak point that breaks away without giving intruders access, keeping your home secure.

Here’s why it’s worth upgrading:

✅ Tested to high security standards

✅ Could even reduce your insurance premiums
